Just/Burgeff Architects were looking for a digital extension to the building information system of their building project Westend Gate, the revitalisation of a 1976 highrise next to the Frankfurt Fair. The brief called for refined elegance on a tight budget.
From Just/Burgeff’s charming facade details we took inspiration for the large screen and created an infowall that slowly animates the undulating wedges in a smooth motion over 5 high-res monitors.
A little bit of interactivity adds what we like to call the MESO-factor: Staff at the front desk have a small touch tablet at their disposal through which they can call up an individual greeting/wayfinding message for a new visitor. It’s a gesture of hospitality in a modern and unexpected feature which would not be so easy to accomplish – and not so cost-effective – with conventional digital signage tools.
Programmed in VVVV.
