| Oval product may be seen as a fairly ironic reference to an eventual
prototype for an Oval audio consumer product. This sound objects«
scarce, but yet unparalleled interface offers an incomparably
intuitive way of effectively "re-mapping" any audio CD (bring
your own) in a playful however explorative manner. Material from any CD is fragmented in several small pieces, which are instantly rearranged by the product. A trivial tempo delay effect allows for a joyful rhythmisation of the material. In this product, some of Ovals composition principles are hardcoded in a ridiculously explicit way and can be discussed quite easy this way. ![]() plåst exhibition, offenbach 1994 |
